
The introductory class will teach you how to handle glass, cut glass and make, decorate and use a mould to create a platter from clear float glass. You will also make one small fused piece using specialty coloured glass.
All tools and glass is provided for your project, as well as morning tea and lunch. Cost of firing is also included. As the piece of glass will need to be fired, you must be able to come back and pick up your finished piece at a later date, or for the cost of postage, it can be mailed out to you.
Skills taught will include:
- Safety aspects of handling glass
- Cutting glass
- Preparing glass for firing
- Individualisation of mould using fibre board, kiln felt additions, and/or kiln wash powder.
This one day workshop runs from 9.00am to around 4.00pm.
Minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 participants. Great day for a group of friends!
